Disaster risk reduction & disaster risk management
The policy objective of anticipating and reducing risk is called disaster risk reduction (DRR). Although often used interchangeably with DRR, disaster risk management (DRM) can be thought of as the implementation of DRR, since it describes the actions that aim to achieve the objective of reducing risk.
Adapted from UNISDR Global Assessment Report 2015
Red A is currently implementing an important project aimed at building the capacity of Malaysian NGOs, ASEAN NGOs and those who were affected by natural disaster risk, such as flood, earthquake, man made disaster and pandemic through a dedicated Community Disaster Risk Reduction training to the affected communities and specialized training tailor made to the NGOs and Governmental agencies in Humanitarian Supply Chain Management, Humanitarian Leadership, Warehouse Management and Project Management.
At RED A, we strongly believe in building capacity of local communities, local organizations and to have trained local nationally personnel to take their rightful place in the humanitarian system.
Global crises are rising and getting worse, there is a massive shortage of locally trained and experience people to provide humanitarian relief and manage disaster relief to the affected people.
Who are we?
At RED A Humanitarian Development Global, we are passionate about building capacity strengthening and training in humanitarian actions for the local actors.
We are passionate about localization!
We mobilise local expert as our subject matter expert in managing disaster risk using soft intervention such as education and training. These initiatives aims to make communities more resilient to disaster.
