Turkey Syria Earthquake Relief Operations

Thousands confirmed dead in the aftermath of two huge earthquakes in Turkey Syria. RED A Humanitarian Development Global supported the coalition of Rakan NADMA NGOs in providing relief to the affected people in Syria.

Almost 42 tonnes of cargo contributed by various NGOs were collected and dispatched to Aleppo Syria using two Royal Malaysian Air Force A400M military transport aircraft.

The Collaboration between NGOs (non-governmental organizations) is essential in the humanitarian sector to ensure that aid and assistance reach those who need it most effectively. NGO collaborations between NADMA, Bevital Group, GPM Malaysia and many others, forms partnerships, alliances, and networks. We shared resources, expertise, and knowledge, leading to more effective and efficient aid delivery.

Overall, NGO collaborations can strengthen the capacity of humanitarian organizations to provide aid and support to vulnerable populations, especially in crisis situations such as natural disasters or armed conflicts.

Disaster risk reduction & disaster risk management

The policy objective of anticipating and reducing risk is called disaster risk reduction (DRR). Although often used interchangeably with DRR, disaster risk management (DRM) can be thought of as the implementation of DRR, since it describes the actions that aim to achieve the objective of reducing risk.

Adapted from UNISDR Global Assessment Report 2015

Red A is currently implementing an important project aimed at building the capacity of Malaysian NGOs, ASEAN NGOs and those who were affected by natural disaster risk, such as flood, earthquake, man made disaster and pandemic through a dedicated Community Disaster Risk Reduction training to the affected communities and specialized training tailor made to the NGOs and Governmental agencies in Humanitarian Supply Chain Management, Humanitarian Leadership, Warehouse Management and Project Management.

At RED A, we strongly believe in building capacity of local communities, local organizations and to have trained local nationally personnel to take their rightful place in the humanitarian system.

Global crises are rising and getting worse, there is a massive shortage of locally trained and experience people to provide humanitarian relief and manage disaster relief to the affected people.

Simulation for Interagency Coordination.
